Yoga FAQs

  • Absolutely! Without a doubt, YES! There may be some exceptions in advanced classes but all of the classes include a short introduction to paddle basics before we get in the water!

  • Maybe, possibly, yeah. It depends. Falling in happens. In fact, it is part of the briefing before we ever get on the water. HOW TO FALL IN! But we also teach you how to get back on your board.

The instructor will offer several options to meet each participant at their own level of comfort. Some participants decide to do the whole practice from a kneeling position.

Our society has a lot of bad press around falling. In SUP Yoga, we like to celebrate it a little. A. If its a hot day, you just got to cool down. B. If you fall, you get back up again…with support from your classmates and the instructor.

  • You decide how much you want to explore. Movements are slower and if you decide that laying in savasana (relaxation) is your jam that day…you are still practicing yoga and breathing and floating.

Also, we teach to all levels and give options, modifications and allow you to decide how close you want to push your edge.

  • Yes. It is a lot of core work. But so is walking when done correctly.

SUP Yoga is a great way to explore and build a stronger, more flexible mind AND body. There is no better place to gain a strong core on accident than in a SUP Yoga class. So many students have reported unintentional strength gains.

  • Yes. Do you need to be an Olympic swimmer? No. Doggie paddle is swimming. When we anchor, or connect to the SUP Line we often remove our life vests and leashes for the practice portion of class. So if you fall in, you will need to make it back to your board.

  • Wear any clothes that allow you to move freely. In our SUP Yoga classes keep in mind that your feet and legs will get wet when we are getting on the boards from the shore. Your upper half could get wet from water that gets on the board during practice or during the paddle. AAAAND possibly if you maybe might fall in. So opt for clothes that you are okay getting wet.

  • Single classes cost $50 and includes your SUP board, life jacket, paddle and leash. We have a special rate for those who want to be frequent paddlers.

  • The use of a Stand Up Paddle board and Life Vest, paddle (kind of essential) a SUP Lesson, guided paddle, and yoga lesson.

If I bring my own SUP board and paddle is there a discount? Yes, but your board has to pass inspection. The boards we use are specifically made for SUP Yoga and we have experienced few to NO disappointed customers using our boards. However, we have had some frustrated customers who used their own boards.

The discount for having your own board is small and the effort and energy you expend loading and unloading your own board make it so worth it to use ours. We love or Glide SUP’s. If you must use your own board, we are not one to argue. But now you have the facts.

  • Because we keep our classes limited in size to provide the safest and most enjoyable experiences, it is important that you notify us of a cancellation 24 hours before the class start time so that someone else can fill the spot. If it is within 24 hours you forfeit your class. To cancel or reschedule, you just have to log into your account in the scheduling app and change to a date that works better or cancel.

If you have to cancel within the 24 hour cut off period, a refund/reschedule is not possible, but we would love to know you won’t make it so we don’t worry.

There is a fee for cancelations but no fee for reschedule (as long as your outside of that 24 hour cut of period).

  • Meeting location will vary depending on the location you book. Once you book you will receive an email with instructions specific to your location.

  • On the day of your class 15 minutes before class is great. This allows for plenty of time to coordinate, suit up (like the super hero you are), use the bathroom, and feel settled before we start class. This will also ensure you get the most time on the water!

We would love to wait for you if you are running late but, if you are not present at the start of class we will start without you.

  • You can lock your items in your vehicle for the duration of the class. For SUP classes your instructor, Roxanne, will put your keys in the dry bag that will go on the trip with us. Many students leave keys in instructor vehicle.

*we are not responsible for your items
